Cherry Blossom Tree

By Laura Miller August 24, 2016
What you need:
Paper lunch bag
Pink tissue paper (we used light and dark pink)
Stuffing (newspaper, etc)

Other supplies:
Green crayon, marker or colored pencil
Scissors
Glue

What you do:
1. Color the bottom 1/4-1/3 of the bag green. Be sure to color the back and sides too!

2. Cut 5 or 6 strips down from the top of the bag, 3-4" long and about 1/2" wide.

3. Open the bag, crumple up the stuffing and fill the green section of the bag. Be sure to make the bottom as flat as you can so that your tree will stand up!

4. Gather the bag around the stuffing and then twist the middle section (from the green up to your cuts) to form the trunk of the tree.

5. Twist the strips at the top, two or three at a time, to form branches.

6. Cut pieces of tissue paper, then crumple them up into "flowers" and glue them onto the branches of the tree. Use as many or as few as you want ... real cherry blossom trees are covered in flowers!
